Hi Helen,
I am finally on the forum because the Evening Standard has asked me to submit my feature - it's hopefully going in the paper on 17th December - so I'm having to do some last-minute research! My diary of the boot camp is also up on my website (www.welove2ski.com). I am doing well - you may remember I was the only person who lost virtually no weight (Marisa later told me it was because I actually made new muscle and because I was already following quite a healthy diet at home), but 4 more lbs have dropped off since coming home and all I've really been doing is following the no wheat and no cow's milk diet, some dog walking, plus three exercise classes a week. One of those classes is boxercise, which I'd never done before coming to the boot camp, and I now really enjoy. Another of the classes I do is belly dancing, which is great if you like dancing (which I do)! You sound as though you've been very active - lucky you living in a warm climate...it's freezing here! |

Hi Helen Good to read your news - as Liz says we are both doing OK, like Felice I have maintained no wheat & dairy and still seem to be loosing weight but as yet I haven't done exercise - everyone at work says how much better I look. Liz is managing diet and exercise and is looking good too - so far we are good ambassadors of the camp.

Hi Girls,
Felice, so good to hear from you, it sounds like to are doing so well. I am so jealous of all of you who have stuck to the no wheat and diary, I just found it too hard. I am shedding pounds still which is all that matters I suppose. I actually hated the boxercise at the time (mind you Jenny was my partner and had a very strong punch) but quite fancy having another go. I am not doing classes but kkeping up with the walks the boys took us on, and doing toning in the gym in my garage.
I read your article on the welove2ski, I thought it was great, made me laugh in some parts but the description of the last day was very emotional, I was filling up. I havent managed to get up Lion Mountain again yet, I keep getting lost! Need to get Tere to come with me.
Liz, I cannot believe you are getting out of bed to walk, you must be very proud of yourself. Its hard enough getting out of bed early here it must be so hard in the cold of England.
Well better do some work, Kim is a great boss but dont want to take the pee.
Keep posting messages, try and get Mo, Emma, Louise, on I will work on Sara, Sharon is coming over in a couple of weeks
Take care Helen |

Thanks Helen, glad you liked the blog on my website. My article is in the Evening Standard next week - it's slightly different from the blog, and no doubt the editor at the newspaper will add to it and/or cut it and I won't recognise it! It sounds like you're doing lots of walking. I did buy a bike but have only used it three times so far, as my dog keeps on following me - which makes it difficult to pedal without going into him! If it ever stops raining here I will try and sneak out when he's not looking... |

Helen I've no idea what you mean about "a strong punch" it was a mere tap - nothing to complain about! In spite of all my good intentions I haven't actually done anything yet about joining a boxercise class - been concentrating on running in the hope that I'll be fit enough to stagger around a 10KM in January. Mind you as January gets closer I start thinking maybe a 10KM in February sounds better!
Did anyone actually manage to get a copy of the Evening Standard - I logged in too late and so missed out but would love to read it if anyone has a copy and could scan it.
Sounds as though most of us have managed to maintain changes to our diets or exercise since boot camp. I've been sticking to the eating plan but my exercise has gone to pot - some weeks I'm good but then there are some weeks where work just seems to take over everything and I manage to do absolutely nothing. Unfortunately exercise wise I seem to have more bad weeks than I do good but I keep telling myself it will all change in the new year. If it doesn't I'm heading back to La Manga for another week of torture and another dose of motivation - only this time it will be worse because I will know exactly what to expect - Deb and Liz how innocent we were on that taxi ride from the airport!!

Hi Jenny, Felice & Helen
Am still doing reasonably well on diet but it is slipping with Christmas looming. Liz is still managing some exercise but as she gave up the job she didn't like now has time to loll around although does go to the gym.
Why I am writing is to tell you this: guess who was trying to hypnotize Kerry Katona on TV? None other than our own Marrissa and it made me remember about the night she tried to hypnotize Jenny & Helen......are you sleeping yet girls?
Staff Dixie introduced himself to a friend of Liz's she had told him about who was training for the Marines which I thought was really nice of him. I think Dixie & Greg worked very hard during our week and like Jenny, if I don't buck my ideas up about exercise I think I can see myself going back. Happy Christmas everyone Lots of love from Deb & Liz sends her love. |

Hi Debbie,
It is very easy at this time of year to get into bad habits with all the chocolates flying around the office. I am going to try the "I will have one tomorrow approach" see if that will work. Im not doing too bad exercise wise, naturally I am not doing as much as at first but still walk upto the guns on a regular occasion, Sharon is over after christmas so we are going up again then. Still not found my way up Lion Mountain!!
Have a great christmas Helen x |

Hi Guys
Glad to hear that everyone else is struggling with Christmas too - just too many Christmas parties to go to although I am trying to be good on the food to make up for the fact that I haven't been quite so good on the alcohol!!
For the past couple of months have been forcing myself out the door to go for runs and suddenly last week I discovered that I was actually enjoying it. I am now averaging about 25km a week although I'm fast running out of training time if I am to do this 10km in January/February. Really really want to do it in under an hour but I don't really know how realistic that is.
Hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New Year and once its all over that we all get back on to the straight and narrow quickly!
Has anyone heard from Mo? - it would be really good to arrange the African evening early in the New Year.
Jenny

Hi Debbie, Liz and Jenny,
Hi girls, Happy New Year to you all. Jenny already knows this but I am going to be doing one of the upcoming bootcamps. Need another kick up the **** before summer. Lot of time spent on the beach when you live here. Are you up for another one? It would be so much easier doing it with mates Im sure and we all know we can do it!
Love Helen |
